Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort, Belize
The Best of Belize, On & Offshore
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate... Who doesn't love chocolate??? On this half day tour you'll make your own bar of chocolate - from start to delicious finish! In the community of Maya Center you will visit a cacao farm where the farmer gives you a complete history of his organic cacao farm. You'll start by tasting the fruit from the cacao tree and end with a Maya chocolate bar in your hands.
During this hands on experience you get to touch and taste organic cacao beans from the tree. You will learn how to make your own chocolate on traditional grinding stones just like the ancient Maya did.
Nearby are the unexcavated remains of the ancient Mayan city of Mayflower. Archaeologists are still unearthing and piecing together the history of this modest Mayan ruin, which is overgrown by the jungle. Orchids, birds and lush vegetation abound! This hike is physically challenging!

Just keep doing what you’re doing… The Mayan tour history was incredible; the guide was extremely knowledgeable and profoundly connected to his heritage.
Everything is so close – the mountains, caves, waterfalls, animals, ruins – this is such a peaceful country with rich culture and a people that cares about the environment. What a hidden gem! Thank you!
