Cave & Jungle Adventure Tour

Attention cave lovers, hikers and birders! You won't want to miss this adventure! Traveling past citrus orchards on the gorgeous Hummingbird Highway you will reach St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park. This park is in one of Belize's oldest jungles dense with large, hardwood trees. The main feature of this adventure is St. Herman's Cave, one of three sacred caves at the park filled with stalactites, stalagmites and ancient Mayan pottery shards.

After a short walk through the jungle you will arrive at the entrance of St. Herman's cave, where concrete steps constructed over the original Mayan steps will lead you down into the cave. Like ancient shamans you will journey a mile underground in one entrance and out another, weather permitting, and learn all about Xibalba (the Mayan Underworld) from our knowledgeable guides. The park hosts many plant, animal and bird species. You'll learn about many of these as you hike and have fun seeing which ones you can identify! Please note: this is a very rigorous trip involving climbing over boulders, up steep and sometimes very narrow passages in the dark with only headlamps!

Everyday, Hamanasi offers a barrier reef excursion and an inland excursion based on a preset schedule. These scheduled tours are included in package rates. Tours beyond the daily scheduled tours are not included in package rates but can be booked at the listed cost. All tours are accompanied by a licensed Belizean tour guide and include any permits needed. A PADI professional accompanies all dive trips.
