Notes & Policies

All rates, policies and dive and snorkel excursions are subject to change without notice!

Guides & Divemasters

A Belizean guide accompanies all snorkel trips and a PADI Instructor or Divemaster accompanies all dive trips.

Diving Adventure prices do not include gear rental.  All necessary equipment for is available for rental – see our rates page. Rates subject to change.  Alternatively, guests may bring their own dive gear and store it in our adventure center at no cost.

Gear storage is available in the Hamanasi Adventure Center. Hamanasi staff carries all gear to and from the boats, assists with preparation and washes all equipment in fresh water at the end of each dive trip.  Hamanasi is not liable for missing or damaged equipment.

We do not accommodate non-diving passengers on our dive boat or non snorkeling passengers on our snorkeling boat. Depending on numbers and the weather, we may take snorkelers on our dive boat to South Water Caye where they will be dropped off with a guide to snorkel off the island.

The water temperature is ~78 to 85 F degrees all year. A 3mm shorty or full wetsuit is recommended. Visibility varies depending on sites, currents and weather — 40ft/12m to 100+ft/30+m is normal. The water can get choppy, especially outside the Barrier Reef. If the water is too rough we will not take out divers, snorkelers or anglers. Safety first!

We cannot control the weather! It may rain for days and days. There may be a hurricane. Rough water may make a trip take longer than planned. It could be unusually cold. Be prepared!

We service our boats, engines, equipment and compressors regularly. Despite our strict maintenance schedule, things can break down (usually when we least want them to!). We do our best to fix quickly any problems and try to make alternate arrangements. Please be understanding and patient!

There is an incredible diversity of marine life in Belize. We hope guests will be able to see much of it. However, we can’t promise a dolphin, shark, turtle, moray eel or any fish at all will swim in front of your eyes on every dive! Rest assured, they often do!

Touch only water! Take only pictures! Leave only your wake! No divers or snorkelers are permitted to touch or take anything from the sea. No exceptions. If an individual refuses to abide by these rules we will not take them on our boats.

We welcome your feedback and want you to have a great trip.  If you have any problems or suggestions simply tell us.
